Ackworth Guitar Setups have been undertaking guitar repairs in Leeds since 2021. Initially we were based in the PMT store on Kirkstall Road, until we moved to our current guitar repair workshop on Stocks Street, Leeds.

Whether you are new to guitar playing, or a seasoned pro, we can undertake all guitar repair and guitar setup related tasks from restrings to guitar refrets. We undertake pickup swaps, pickup installation, guitar wiring repairs, output jack replacement. We can also level, crown and polish your frets  or refret your guitar.

LEEDS AMPLIFIER REPAIRS

​

Ackworth Guitar Setups have been undertaking amplifier repairs in Leeds and West Yorkshire. since 2021. We work on valve amplifiers (we do not work on Class D amplifiers as they are often very costly to repair and parts are often not available). We can re-valve your amplifier and check the amplifier bias. We will check the integrity of your valves using our state of the art valve testers. This includes:

Heater filament test: Short circuit, Heater filament test: Open circuit, Heater filament test: Tolerance check, Heater cathode insulation: Leakage, Heater cathode insulation: Short Circuit.

 

Tests for heater current abnormalities, Amplification factor, Voltage gain, Power gain, Screen grid test, Mutual conductance test, Dual test for double triodes, Emission
Inter electrode leakage, Inter electrode short circuit, Flash-over (arc detection, high voltage breakdown), Gas ionisation test.

By car: Ackworth Guitar Setups Leeds is located on Stocks Street just off the city end of Meanwood Road. If you’re travelling to the Leeds music shop by car, there’s plenty of free on-site parking available.

 

By bus:

The buses that go on Meanwood Road from Leeds are Bus: 12, 27, 51, 52, 6, 7A

 

By train:

It is a 30-minute walk from Leeds Train Station to the shop.
